Breaking News - August Schell Brewing Co. Bock Fest 2001

February 9, 2001 -- New Ulm, MN brewery hosts traditional celebration of Bock beer

August Schell Brewing Co. Bock Fest 2001

Saturday, February 24th - 11:00 am to 4:30 pm All ages are welcome!

Ted Marti and the crew at August Schell's Brewing of New Ulm have made a pact with Mother Nature: They’ll serve up the finest beer, food and entertainment and she’ll provide the appropriate weather. If you attended Bock Fest 2000, it was obvious that they all brought out their best. And after last year’s warm March temperatures, Ted might have to leave his parka at home and opt for the lederhosen! (A scary thought!)

Reserve the last Saturday in February for a keg-full of fun at the August Schell Bock Fest, February 24th, 2001. Gates will open at 11am sharp with festivities taking place outside the brewery....you’ll be amazed at how much heat a Bock Fest crowd can generate!

The Annual Bock Medallion Hunt - One of the cornerstones of the celebration! Each year, seven Bock cutouts are secretly hidden in the woods surrounding the brewery. Strap on your boots, listen carefully to Ted’s clues and GO! Find a Bock and you could take home one of the cash prizes.

5th Annual “Schmaltz” Marti Parade - Celebrating the legacy of one of August Schell Brewing Company’s most colorful presidents, Warren “Schmaltz” Marti.

The “Bock Fest Boys” - Bock Fest wouldn’t be the same without them. “Zicke Zacke! Zicke Zacke! Heu! Heu! Heu!”

Great German Food - Bratwurst, kraut, soups and much more.....because Germans love to eat!

Bonfires & Pokers - Okay so last year was a little warm for a bonfire, but this year might be standing room only! Stop here to caramelize your Bock beer with one of the Schell's red hot pokers. Warm frothy head, rich tasty Bock....isn’t winter great!

Schell’s Museum of Brewing and Gift Shop - The mugs always seem to disappear fast. Stop in early and browse through the selections of glassware and wearables, or visit the Schell’s Museum and take a glimpse into the brewery’s colorful past.

Tickets to Bock Fest can be purchased at the gate for $5.00. Please remember, if you’re going to be enjoying our beer, assign a designated driver and bring a valid ID. Anyone purchasing beer tickets will be checked.

For additional information either visit the Schell's web site at http://www.schellsbrewery.com or call at 800-770-5070.
