Breaking News - BOP Brew-Off 2000 Winners Announced
November 28, 2000 -- Brew On Premises Owners Vie For Best Brews

The Third Annual BOP Brew-Off took place on Saturday, November 11th. This competition is for the owners/operators of Brew-On-Premises across the United States.
There were 61 entries in 9 different beer style categories. First, second and third place finishers in each category were awarded
Gold, Silver and Bronze GABF(R)-style medallions.
Judges for this competition included Bob Ward, former brewmaster O'Grady's Brewery in Arlington Heights, IL and current brewer at RAM Brewing in Wheeling, IL, and Dick Van Dyke, Accounts Representative at Glunz Beer Distributing, award-winning homebrewer and BJCP Nationally Certified beer judge. Ward and Van Dyke also evaluate commercially brewed beer at Chicago-based Beverage Testing Institute (home of the World Beer Championships).
The BOP Brew Off was co-sponsored by Northwestern Extract Company (Brookfield, WI) and Wyeast Labs (Mt. Hood, OR). The competition was hosted by, and the medallions were donated by, BEER GEAR Homebrew Supply and Beer Specialty Store in Tinley Park, Illinois.
