BridgePort Porter is bottle-conditioned, having undergone a secondary fermentation in the very bottle from which it is served. After the initial fermentation, the beer is bottled and a small amount of yeast is added. The bottle is crowned, then stored up to three weeks to allow the beer to come to full condition. This process creates a Porter that is rich and creamy, allowing the complex flavors of the beer to come through.
A descendent of its traditional Irish counterparts, BridgePort Black Strap Stout is made with a touch of black strap molasses to add a sweet subtlety to the rich flavor of roasted malt.
Founded 'in 1981, BTT conducts tests in their Chicago-based tasting lab. The organization produces respected, comprehensive buying guides for wine, beer and spirits.
