Breaking News - Bell’s Beer Circus: The Missing Photos
July 14, 2000 -- Memories of last year's GABF and the Bell's Beer Circus that closed the festivities
As the 1999 Great American Beer Festival wound down in Denver, a threat to community standards was unleashed at the nearby Marriott Hotel. The Bell’s Beer Circus was in town!
Kalamazoo Brewing Company founder, Larry Bell, was the visionary force behind this bash. The backbone of the night was ten half-barrels of Bell’s finest brews, including Two Hearted Ale, Expedition Stout and Double Cream Stout. Throw in a juggler, a psychic, a face painter, a scary clown, food and a great salsa band and you have the beginnings of a great party.
Of course the heart of a party (other than the beer, of course) is the people. We have gathered a few photos that escaped the reach of Larry’s censors and offer them here. Warning: There are a lot of photos and these pages may take some time to load on slower connections.
