Breaking News - Spring Brewers Festival at Founders Hill
May 4, 2000 -- Chicago area's finest brewers will be on hand for May 19 & 20 event.
The wildly successful Spring Brewers Festival is back again this year, and is bigger and better than ever!
Brian Gustafson, Beer Notes’ Chicagoland wandering minstrel of brews, emailed the following report about an upcoming event at Founders Hill Brewing Company.
This annual event sponsored by Founders Hill Brewing Company, the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild and Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation, the 2000 Spring Brewers Festival will feature two days worth of food, music, good times, and of course beer! The fest will be held on Friday, May 19th from 5:00PM until 10:00PM and on Saturday, May 20th, from Noon until 10:00PM, and is located behind Founders Hill Brewing Company and in adjacent Fishel Park.
Featured breweries and brewpubs that will be pouring their finest brews include Founders Hill, Flatlanders, Mickey Finn's, Rock Bottom (Chicago), Rock Bottom (Warrenville), Two Brothers, Harrisons, Flossmoor Station, Goose Island, Prairie Rock, Glen Ellyn, America's Brewing AKA The Roundhouse, Hopcat's, Three Floyds, Wild Onion, Weinkeller, Mill Rose, Emmett's, Fox Bay and O'Grady's.
Food will be served on Saturday and will include selections from Founders Hill, Stir Crazy, King James BBQ, Vivaldi's/Pizza Capri, Early Riser Bakery, Fairview Creamery and the Downers Grove Lions Club.
Friday's entertainment is provided by blues band Howard and the White Boys, and Saturdays lineup includes The Tom Carey Band, Jerry Grossman, Kato & the Houseboys and special guest group The Lovin' Spoonful. There is a $3.00 admission fee and beer tickets are $3.00 each.
