Joe Kainz and his wife Sue own the Wild Onion Brewing Company of Lake Barrington along with their sons Michael, Patrick and John. They are rich. Not because of selling beer, but because they had one of two winning tickets in the recent Big Game lottery payout of $363 million dollars.
Congratulations to the Kainz family from all the beer lovers in Chicagoland and beyond. After taxes and the deduction for taking the cash up front, they will net a cool $62 million. In spite of their great luck in winning the 75,000,000-to-1 drawing, the Kainz clan plans to keep the brewery going.
