Running Press and Beer Hunter Michael Jackson have teamed up to present a newly revised edition of the Pocket Guide to Beer. This handy little book (3.75" by 7.75") covers the wonderful world of beer from Abbey to Zywiec. Arranged by country, the book gives short, concise descriptions of most available beers, as well as some of the best bars in which to drink them.
This book is a must for anyone travelling abroad. Michael shares his decades of beer hunting experiences, pointing out which beers you will find and subtly pointing out the best choices. It could take a lifetime of aimless wandering (not a bad fate but...) to find some of the great beer bars that the Beer Hunter has uncovered, so a quick read can pay big dividends.
Also handy is the glossary of beer terms. A great way to settle those contentious bar wagers. The book is priced at $12.95 (hardcover) and will be available in September of 2000.
