December 19, 2000 -- Gala event featuring the best beer and food from Chicago-area brewpubs and microbreweries
Those wild and crazy guys and gals from the Chicago Beer Society (CBS) are at it again. The Chicagoland Brewpub & Microbrewery Shootout is back! Head on over to the Windy City to enjoy the best beers and foods from Chicago-area brewpubs and microbreweries. Sample a bunch of beers as well as each brewpub’s food item and then vote for your favorites. Winners will be announced at the end of the event. Winners will be announced at the end of the event. Just to show you how smart the Chicago Beer Society folk are, they’ve scheduled this gig on a “No Football Sunday”, so your last excuse to stay home has just gone down the drain.
Everyone is invited to the Irish-American Cultural Center, 4626 N. Knox Avenue in Chicago. (That’s at Wilson Avenue, just east of the Kennedy Expressway. You can call 773-232-7035 for directions.) Tickets are $30 at the door for CBS members and $35 for non-members. Admission includes all the beer samples, plus one food sample from each brewpub attending.
