Arcadia Brewing Company Wins Gold And Bronze Medals In World Beer Championships In Chicago
April, 1998The Beverage Tasting Institute of Chicago, Illinois announced last week that Arcadia Brewing Company of Battle Creek, Michigan received a Gold Medal in the India Pale Ale category of the 1998 World Beer Championships with a score of 92 out of a possible 100 with Arcadia IPA, which will be available for the first time in 12 ounce bottles on February 2nd. The World Champion Beer of the IPA category was Whitbread IPA (England) with a score of 93, next came Arcadia IPA and King & Barnes IPA (England) tied with a 92 score, and followed by Fullers IPA (England) at 91 and Samuel Smiths IPA (England) at 90. Arcadia's entry was the only American brewery represented in the Top 5 IPA's in the world.
Arcadia was also honored to have its flagship beer, Angler's AleŠ awarded with a Bronze Medal in the Pale Ale category with a score of 82. The Beverage Tasting Institute (BTI) is the nation's only full-time product testing service specializing in beverages. BTI tastings are conducted in a manner recognized as valid by the product-testing community and are known to minimize procedural and psychological errors.

Arcadia Brewing Company was established in 1996 in Downtown Battle Creek with a 25 barrel Peter Austin microbrewery from England, and has an attached 150 seat restaurant featuring Wood-Fired Oven Cuisine and views of the Brewery and Bottling operations.
