Mickey Finn's Wheat Ale Now In Bottles

April, 1998

Mickey Finn's, that popular brewpub in Libertyville, Illinois, is making their popular Wheat Ale available in six packs of 12-ounce bottles. The brew is made with American-grown wheat and barley malts, American hops, British ale yeast and Lake Michigan water. The result is a lighter bodied beer with a complex taste unmatched by "normal" lager beers.

Initial response has been so strong that a new brewery complex is under construction at the Harris-Casey road triangle in northwest Libertyville. The capacity of the new brewery will be in the 40,000 barrels per year range. Look for production at the new brewery to commence in the spring of 1999. Until then, Mickey Finn's will continue to brew and bottle at the Stevens Point Brewing Company. Some 3,500 barrels are projected in 1998.

Spring distribution will be throughout Lake and McHenry Counties. By summer, Mickey Finn's Wheat Ale should be available in other selected Chicago neighborhoods.
