Jerome Chicvara is Back in the Saddle at Saxer
August, 1999After parting ways with Full Sail Brewing Company prior to its recent employee buyout, industry veteran Jerome Chicvara has joined Saxer/Nor'Wester of Lake Oswego, OR, as brewery vice president. As announced on July 4, Chicvara will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities for both Oregon brands. A Northwest craft brewing innovator, Chicvara was the first to bottle Oregon craft beer in 1987 (not counting the efforts of Portland's short-lived Cartwright Brewery about 1980). Chicvara was also founder and first president of the Oregon Brewers Guild. According to Steve Goebel, Saxer president, "Jerome has always been an excellent ambassador at large for the greater industry and he has a reputation for knowledge, enthusiasm, and honesty with all of our wholesalers and retailers."
