Ommegang and Hennepin

August, 1999

Brewery Ommegang of Cooperstown, NY. makes what are probably the most Belgian-like of any brews made in America. The Ommegang is similar to an abbey dubbel-style ale, amber, malty, and somewhat sweet (8.5% a.b.v.). Hennepin is in the drier saison style, golden with hop, spice, and yeast flavors (7.5% a.b.v.). Now available in both Oregon and Washington.
