Trust the folks in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle to do things a little differently. This year's Oktoberfest, "traditionally" held the second weekend in October, has been moved back to September 25 and 26 (when it is actually held in Germany). Also for the first time, Fremont's Oktoberfest will be held at the courtyard of the new Adobe complex across from the Aurora Bridge to the East, since the old parking lot location behind the Red Door is now slated for development. According to Phil Megenhardt, event director, a mock Bavarian "village" will be constructed on site to help the festival gain visibility at its new location.
