Alcatraz Brewing Company Announces New Head Brewer At Littleton
August, 1999James E. Stinson is the new head brewer for Alcatraz Brewing Company. He joins the Alcatraz team following his tenure as assistant brewer at Rockyard Brewery in Castle Rock, Colo. His prior brewing experience includes a stint as brew master at the Irish Brewpub and Grille in Pueblo, CO and he was a brewer at Mickey Finn's Brewery in Libertyville, IL. Stinson spent 11 years in the U.S. Marine Corps in various command and staff positions before leaving the Corps and beginning his brewing education at Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. Among his brewing awards are a Silver Medal for his Scotch Ale at the Great American Beer Festival in 1997; a Gold Medal for his Pale Ale and a Silver Medal for his Brown Ale in 1997 at the Beverage Testing Institute. In addition, he accumulated many accolades and awards for his home brewed beers at several home brew competitions.
Alcatraz Brewing Company is located at 8405 Park Meadows Center Drive in Park Meadows. All beer served "on the rock" is brewed on the premises. Brewery tours are available by appointment.
